Rocky Mountain

Lyrics
Sittin' in this cabin, love that's someplace I have never been
lookin' at the Chiefshead, love, that's something I have never seen
you know the mountain was here when you and I weren't even whispers of love in our mother's minds; and the mountain's gonna be here when our mothers, and you and I are far behind. Even if I thought so, I've tried to never tell you you were wrong; I'm just sittin' in this cabin, playin' easy on this Rocky Mtn Song. Sittin' in this cabin where the winter always holds the hand of spring; thinking about timelessness, the kinds of things the changing season brings. You know the mountain was here when you and I were seeds in the womb of Destiny; and the mountain's gonna be here when you and I have changed our form to fit Eternity. even if I wanted to, I can't tell you love where you belong; I wish you were - sittin' in this cabin listenin' easy to my Rocky Mountain Song.

Description
Short Song Description:
This is a simple song celebrating the quiet joy of seeing magnificent things in new places, yet missing the ones we most love if they are not with us there. And, for me then, contemplating the long and the short of life.
Long Song Description:
My lifetime work in psychology, and my love for existential psychology and deep river thinking (I've called it) has long been a part of my life and my music. Our lives are small in contrast with the mountains; and yet Eternal in another way. Peace comes in this paradox.
Story Behind the Song:
I went to Denver to visit a friend, many years ago. We sat in a little cabin where she lived simply, and I missed the one I most loved. I wrote this song.
